I met up with Kinu at the central bus station before 8 and we got on the bus. It took us more than 3 hours to get to IBUSUKE where we had Kurobuta Shabu-Shabu at HANTEN and continued on to the Sand Baths. The Shabu Shabu was really yummy and we had a great view of Sakurajima. At the Onsen it was crazy to get burried in hot sand-- and we got to burn our butts. Unfortunatelly the whole trip was rushed and we spent most of the time on the bus-- but it was well worth it. We aslo got to go to Nagasaki-bana. It was an other gorgeous view. We saw lots of fishers and "nori-hunters". It really was spectacular despite the rush.
The most impressive part of the trip is that for the entire bus ride--- more than 6 hours total... the tour guide talked non-stop. At first it was relevant topics but then I guess she ran out of things to say and just started rambling on a bunch of useless trivial stuff. I don't understand how someone can talk in KEIGO (Honorific Japanese) about farts-- but she did it-- I swear to God! She said "de gozaimasu" more than a thousand times and explained about "ONARA". Finally when even the fart topics were exhausted she resorted to singing. If I hear an other "to iwareteiru koto de gozaimasu" I might have to explode!
